## Good to know

* **The deposit.** Many places take part of the price when you book and the rest at check-in. The summary shows both amounts before you pay.
* **Cancelling.** The cancellation policy above the payment says how much comes back if you cancel, and until when. To cancel, see [Cancel a booking](/customers/your-account/cancel-a-booking).
* **A day cottage or a day tour** is booked for one day: choose the date instead of a range.
* A place that shows as full on your dates may be booked through another site. Try other dates, or contact the business.
