# Book, check in and check out guests

> Use the Stays board to see every room by date, book a stay, and check guests in and out.

The **Stays** board shows each room as a row and each date as a column, with every stay across its nights and what is still due on it.

## Book a stay for a guest

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Stays">
    In the menu, select **Stays**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select New stay">
    Select **New stay**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill it in">
    Choose the **Client**, the **Check-in** and **Check-out** dates, the **Accommodation**, the **Room** (or **Any free room**), and the number of adults and children. Tick any add-ons.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Book it">
    Select **Book stay**. The stay shows on the board, with the amount due.

## Check guests in and out

Select **Today** at the top of the board for the day's **Arrivals**, **Departures** and guests **In house**. Select a stay, then **Check in** or **Check out**. From the same stay you can **Move** it, **Mark as paid**, or **Cancel stay**.

## Good to know

* **Timeline** and **Today** switch the board's view. With more than one location, choose it at the top.
* Nights booked on Airbnb, Booking.com or Agoda show on the board when the room is synced. See [Sync your calendars with Airbnb, Booking.com and Agoda](/business/stays/calendar-sync).
* Canceling a stay that was paid shows the refund before it happens: by the cancellation policy, the full amount, or no refund. Canceling with a refund needs the Issue refunds permission.
