# Set up rooms for overnight and day stays

> Turn on Stays, add what guests book, and set the rates, deposit and check-in times.

Stays is for resorts, campsites, glamping, transient houses, private pool rentals and hostels. Guests book a room, a villa, a tent or a day cottage on your booking site, choose their dates and guests, and pay a deposit. Every stay shows on the **Stays** board.

## Turn on Stays

A business set up as a resort or a campsite starts with Stays on. Any business can turn it on:

    Under **Booking**, turn on **Stays**, then select **Save**.

**Stays** appears in the menu, and **Accommodations** under **Catalog**.

## Add an accommodation

An accommodation is one kind of thing guests book, like Garden Room or Beach Villa. Its rooms are the ones you hand out: Garden Room 1, Garden Room 2.

    In the menu, go to **Catalog**, then **Accommodations**, and select **Add accommodation**.

  <Step title="Name it">
    Under **Basic details**, enter the **Name** and a **Description**. Leave **Available to book online** on for guests to book it on your site.

  <Step title="Choose how it's booked">
    Under **How it's booked**, choose **Overnight** or **By the day**. Then choose the rooms you hand out, listed under **Rooms**, or **A daily limit** for spots, beds or passes counted per day, and enter the **Daily limit**.

  <Step title="Set the price">
    Under **Price**, choose **Per room** or **Per guest** and enter the **Rate a night**. Turn on **Weekend rate** for a different rate on the nights you choose, **Charge a fee per guest** for guests beyond those the rate includes, **Different fee for children**, or a **Cleaning fee**.

  <Step title="Add seasons, if you have them">
    Under **Seasons**, add a season with its own rate and fewest nights, like the holidays.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set guests, nights and the deposit">
    Under **Guests and nights**, set how far ahead guests can book and the fewest and most nights. Under **Deposit**, turn on **Require deposit** and choose the **Deposit type**: a percent or a fixed amount.

    Select **Save**.

Add-ons, like breakfast or an extra bed, are products you offer with an accommodation under **Add-ons**.

## Set check-in times and the cancellation policy

Go to **Settings**, **Business**, then **Stays**. Set **Check-in**, **Check-out** and **Turnover** under **Overnight stays**, the hours for **Day use**, how much is refunded under **Cancellations**, and an **Arrival note** guests get with their confirmation. An accommodation can keep its own times and policy instead.

## Good to know

* An accommodation's rooms are its own. A room booked for a stay can't be booked by another guest for the same night.
* Guests pay the deposit online or by transfer to your own account. With **Require deposit** off, Pay in person can be offered too, if your business takes it.
