# Create a treatment plan

> Plan a course of treatments for a client and see how many are done.

export const WhoCanDoThis = ({permission, feature, plan, devices}) => {
  const rows = [];
  if (permission) rows.push(["Who can do this", `Owners, and anyone with the ${permission} permission`]);
  if (feature) rows.push(["Feature", `${feature}, turned on in Settings, Business, Features`]);
  if (plan) rows.push(["Plan", `${plan} and above`]);
  if (devices) rows.push(["Works on", devices]);
  if (!rows.length) return null;
  return <Info>
      {rows.map(([label, value]) => <span key={label} style={{
    display: "block"
  }}>
          <strong>{label}:</strong> {value}
        </span>)}
    </Info>;
};

<WhoCanDoThis permission="Manage client charts" devices="computer and tablet" />

A treatment plan records a course of treatments you agreed with a client, such as six laser sessions. Each signed chart entry in the plan counts as one session, and the plan shows how many are done.

## Add a plan

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the client's chart">
    On the client's profile, open the **Chart** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Add plan">
    Under **Treatment plans**, select **Add plan**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the plan">
    Enter a **Name**, choose one or more **Services**, and set the number of **Sessions**. If the client has a package for these sessions, choose it under **Package**. Add **Notes** if you like.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Select **Save plan**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You see "Plan added." The plan shows its progress, such as "2 of 6 sessions done", and the package's credits used beside it.

## Link entries to the plan

An entry started from an appointment joins the plan on its own when exactly one of the client's active plans includes that service. Otherwise, choose the plan in **Part of** on the entry, under **Chart details**.

When the entry is signed or marked as complete, it gets its number, such as "Session 3 of 6".

## Book the next session

Open the plan and select **Book next session**, or select it on a signed entry in the plan. A new appointment opens for the client, with the plan's service when the plan has one.

## Finish or stop a plan

Open the plan, select the menu beside its name, then **Mark as completed**, or **Stop plan** and give a reason. **Edit plan** changes the name, services, sessions, package or notes.

## Good to know

* A plan never spends a credit. Credits are used when sessions are booked, as always. The plan shows the count side by side.
* A plan with no package shows **Sell package** when you have a package that covers its services.
* A plan created after an appointment was booked doesn't link to that entry on its own. Choose it under **Part of**.
* A completed or stopped plan can't be reopened.
* Team members without chart access see only the plan's name, progress and status.
* Your business can count doses instead of sessions: in **Settings**, **Charting**, change **Treatment plans count in**.
